Warped Isolation

This is me, blathering on about my life in general. Sometimes I wax poetic, sometimes I wax wacky and sometimes I wax thought-provoking. Whatever it is you hope to find here, I hope you find it. I welcome any and all comments, so feel free.

Still Vulnerable:

You'd think at twenty years of age I would be capable of wearing a white shirt for one whole day without managing to get a stain right in the nipple area of my t-shirt. Apparently however, this is not the case at all. I may just have to put away/frame the beautiful robot tee that Daniella made for me, simply because I am incapable of wearing it without looking like a slob. It's one of the most tragic things I've ever experienced.

Just call me Diva...

So I've been told off for not posting in over a month. Obviously you guys didn't take me seriously when I told you the blog was going on a hiatus. anyhow, posting now, so lay off the poor internet-less girl. :
My job continues to rock, which amazes me, usually I get disenchanted with things pretty quickly. Usually give two tours a day, and the rest of the time I spend onsite doing animation and interps of specific buildings/areas. My favorite position is Keating house, where I get to dress up like Jane Keating and cook with a reflector oven and fire, embroider, and generally putter. It's great because I like to putter, and also because I'm on the far side of a site thats 1.5K long and most of the time I don't have to deal with anybody... mouahahaha. I still like my co-workers, some mor ethan others, but I suppose that's to be expected. Only one of the guys really irks me, and its a damn engineer (go figure) he's incredibly domineering and likes to tell others what to do, how to do it, what the background info is on the stuff... and it gets old pretty quickly now that im into my own work pattern. It's hard to convince this guy that yes, I know how to light a fire, no I do not need his help and just because I don't do it the way he would, doesn't mean it's any less effective. blarg. Anyway, little vent -- mostly he's a great guy, just needs to work on that one aspect of his personality.

I hosted a birthday party for my staff supervisor serf on Monday night. It was really great, although there were some hurdles to jump over before it got anywhere -- first off, organizing, which sucks, and anyone who has organized anything esp. on short notice will understand why. Secondly, Elise and I had the hugest fight the morning of, and she threatened to trash the house I had just cleaned to screw me over. Then it poured all day, and as it was a BBQ, I was unimpressed. We went swimming after supper despite the rain, and it turned into a blessing, because it just added to the adventure. It was a downpour by the time we got out, and since it had just been spitting when we went down, we had all brought our towels out with us- big (funny) mistake -- we may as well have brought them into the water with us they were so wet. So Martini had to find 12 people clean towels of his, and every single towel in the house was dirty up until I did laundry yesterday. Was great fun.

My new nickname at work is Diva, because I maybe-sorta had a bit of a tantrum on wednesday. It was a day with severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings, so nobody came out all day (understandably,) and so all the staff relaxed into our "lets not do anything" modes. No, our last admission is at 4 O'clock, so it gets to be 2:30, and im sitting on the Tecumseth (war ship on site.) Now, Happy was supposed to come to the wharf to relieve me, he was supposed to show up at 2:00 and I was supposed to leave for break at 2:45. Then, Happy gets in shit for messing around with the radios, and serf calls him up to the office to bitch him out, so im alone on the wharf waiting for Happy get back. I start really needing to pee around 2, and at 2:35 I radio serf and ask if anyone is coming to relieve me, he sends Happy down, but by the time I get up to the office, its 5 to three. I'm not too concerned about it at the time even though I'm scheduled for a tour at 3 (after all, no one's been onsite all day!!) -- I just pee and head up to start my break late. Then Kristin calls the lunchroom from Admissions and tells serf I have a tour. At first I thought he was joking, then I see he's not, and I just shout "FUCK" really loud and stomp downstairs, putting on my beautiful cheerful interp face for the visitors as I lead them on a tour of a 2K site in the pouring rain. Ahh, Disco Harbour, how I love thee.

hmm.. what else is new.

Went to the symphony at Roy Thompson Hall in T.O yesterday night, was awesome, and purely conincidentally got to see one of my favorite violinists, Leila Josefowitz, in concert.....

Uh, that's pretty much it, really, now im in Guelph, and can't get a hold of anyone, and so, tragically, on my first night home since forever, I will be vegging in front of the TV. Woe is me. Ah well, at least Court and I have b-day plans for her tomorrow. ^_^
